How Students Earn College Credit Through Articulation
- Talk to your counselor or high school teacher early in the school year about your interest in earning college credit. Enrollment deadlines apply, and an active articulation agreement must be in place for your course.
- Submit an online Citrus College application. Be sure to save your CCCID and confirmation number. (An application workshop will be held during the college campus visit.)
-
Have the following information ready when completing your application:
- Copy of your high school transcripts
- Legal name (first, middle, last)
- Mailing address (including ZIP code)
- Date of birth
- Personal email address (checked frequently)
- Social Security Number, Alien Registration Number, or F-1/M-1 visa information (including issue and expiration dates)
- Receive your Citrus College Student ID. You will get an email with your student ID within 48–72 hours. Keep your login information secure.
- Take the Credit by Exam, which will be administered by a college staff member.
- Pass the Credit by Exam with a B or higher to qualify for college credit. Grades below a B do not qualify and will not be recorded.
- Complete the “Awarding CTE High School Articulation Credit” form (Form 2) to authorize Citrus College to add your earned credit to your college transcript.
Note: Assessments may include written exams, multiple-choice questions, practical demonstrations, or portfolio reviews, depending on the course.
Benefits of Articulation for Students
- Graduate high school with college credit
- Save money on tuition and textbooks (there is no cost to students for articulated credit)
- No negative impact on your college transcript if you score below a B
